Let’s set the scene for a second, shall we? You have a hair appointment. It’s an ordinary day and you’re feeling, well, ordinary. Life at the moment is just as mundane and bland as your hair. You take a seat in the hairdresser’s chair. 30 minutes later she swings you around, you check out your new ‘do, and then the next moment you’re being encouraged and loved on with words you haven’t heard in far too long. You leave the salon with a smile feeling brand, spankin’ new not only because of your tresses but because you’ve been poured into with joy, positiveness, and hope.
Pretty amazing right? Now imagine you feeling led to make girls feel like this in a whole other country? What a calling! Courage, passion, and faith has led this woman to push through barriers and actively pursue her God-sized dreams. Meet Brianna!

Although it’s August and fall is quickly approaching, this month never fails to bring on the highest temperatures that make summer seem like it will last forever. Unfortunately since that’s not the case in Michigan, we make do of what we can before the days of frigid cold, icy roads, and entrapped in snow come to be. That means taking the boat out a few more times, throwing one more family barbecue, or simply wearing your favorite summer dress. Continue reading “Flattering Forever (21)”
At last, we are finally seeing full weeks of beautiful sunshine without the surprise of snow in the forecast (knock on wood). Bikers accessorized with leather, convertibles with their tops down, grills are dusted off, and a slew of grad parties, picnics, outdoor concerts, and road trips are already scheduled in for the coming months. Yep, summer is a’comin’! And ladies, what’s a summer without a good ol’ summer dress?
I love, love, love dresses with a basic silhouette like this because it’s so easy to get up and go with especially when its fabric is convenient and you don’t have to iron it. And while this dress clearly looks like it’s from the ’90s, bright colors with floral NEVER ceases to get me all giddy inside. Whether you’re a heels or sandals kinda girl or hair down or twisted in a quick bun, it’s so simple to look like you actually put in the effort, and let’s be honest, with this kind of weather, all we want is to be outside, right?!
Remember, summer does not have to equal immodesty! It’s humid and we get sweaty. I get it. But it is possible to still look hot when it’s HOT (hah). Take a look at Liz’s post from her blog Downtown Demure. She and 12 other modest fashion bloggers give their tips on how to look cool while staying cool when it’s the temperatures are anything but.
Have a great weekend!

“Modesty is not a bad word. It’s the characteristic of a woman whose heart has been changed from self-will to godliness. It reveals the attitude of a woman that lives to honor God.”
It’s happening! And it’s THIS Saturday!
If you are in the Metro-Detroit area, we invite you to our *first* Faith + Fashion + Finance event! It’ll be a morning full of worship and discussing God’s view on what we wear, our true identity in Christ, and how to manage what’s been given to us. I’ll tell ya, it’s been an interesting, fun, yet challenging time spiritually preparing for these two hours, but I pray and believe that God will speak something into you. So bring your friends, family, and loved ones for this one-of-a-kind event! We look forward to seeing you!
Get to know our special guest speaker, too! We’re not just creating an event, we’re spreading the Message!
See you on Saturday!

Saturday April 16, 2016- Look out New York and L.A., Michigan’s fashion industry just catapulted to a whole new level with its first ever “Michigan Fashion Summit.”
CEO and founder of Michigan Fashion Week, Loren Danielle, and her team created a whole new type of Detroit fashion event where bloggers, make-up artists, models, and fashion business owners came together to learn more about their field of expertise from various industry professionals.
Industry influencers such as Courtney Miarka of “Closet Fashion Fix” and “The Styled Life,” Grace of “Color and Grace,” Mia Ray of “Confessions of a Glam-aholic,” and Char Glover from Project Runway (among so many others) graced the different break out sessions to give tips and advice to grow and succeed as a fashion entrepreneur (entreprenista!). Attendees listened intently while writing in their notes, asking questions, and of course, networking with other go-getters in Metro-Detroit!
I absolutely loved witnessing this type of event because it wasn’t just focusing on Michigan’s designers and their garments on models, but it really catered to other areas that you may not see right on the runway. I am so big on community and collaboration so to experience the first of this innovative event in Detroit was amazing!
Congrats to Loren and her entire team and continuously showcasing what Detroit has to offer the fashion industry. Can’t wait for Michigan Fashion Summit 2017!
“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, an all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”
