Ethereal Simplicity

Two weeks ago I flew down to Florida to watch my wonderful college friend/dance twin/accountability partner leave her life of being a single woman and enter marriage with her best friend. Weeks before the wedding she told me her theme was bohemian and I immediately pictured simple neutrals and dark earth tones with splashes of rosy pinks, turquoise, and warm oranges but I was pleasantly delighted to see the outcome as we finished setting up on the big day.

The venue’s ethereal setting was filled with laced dream catchers, white Baby’s Breath, carnations, and roses with a touch of fresh ferns. Her color palette of white and delicate creams with nature’s green was simplicity at its finest. Even her dress represented modest chic and pureness.

Dare I say, sometimes you don’t need a plethora of prints and crazy colors to make a statement! Check out my Pinterest board for some minimalistic inspiration here:

While I Was Out (Photo Diary)

Hello all!!! How have you been?

21 days of prayer and fasting has officially ended (VLOG on that experience soon!) and I won’t lie, it feels so good to be blogging again. While I was out I was literally out of town visiting friends whom I haven’t seen in five years and family I haven’t seen in almost a year which included meeting my baby nephew for the first time! Basking in Florida weather and even Delaware’s mild coldness was wonderful and, of course, Michigan was all welcoming with a snow storm! Since I couldn’t post photos on social media, here’s a little hodge podge of the sights from the past couple of weeks. For better viewing, click on a picture to read the full caption and a full-size photo. Enjoy!

Gold and White

White polo: Tommy Hilfiger ~ Gold Knit: Tanday ~ Shorts: Banana Republic ~ Shoes: Steve Madden ~ Sunglasses: Wet Seal

Partly inspired by this look, I tried to capture my inner country club girl (if there’s even one) with clean, straight lines, and, of course, a polo. It’s a color palette I normally don’t go for without the slightest trace of pink, but it’s always good to venture out and try new things, even things as daily as your outfits!

Cousin plug! My cousin is currently in Orlando, Florida with a team for the Walt Disney World Summer Project. There they will be sharing the gospel to others and helping towards the Great Commission. First of all, I am so J! What an awesome opportunity! With everything that he’s been through in less than a month (including surgery done on a fractured arm) I am so happy to see him mature and grow in his faith. Read his blog here to see the works that He is doing!
