I left California on Tuesday morning which was so emotional. I thought the second time around would be easier but it was just as hard as the first. But after a month and half in the cold winter of Michigan, driving through the highways of SoCal with the windows down and seeing the mountain views was everything. I attended a conference with my firm to support the boo and I also loved getting to see my friends that have become true friends. The ones I can call at 11pm and cry and vent to and then some (true story).
Once I touch downed in the Philippines- it finally hit me. My thoughts were as such:
“OHHH MY GOSH you’re in the Philippines and you’re not leaving in a month or anything…you’re like, here for a while!”
I was in Manila for about 10 hours until I had to leave for the airport for my flight to Kalibo, the province where my dad grew up. My little brother and I are celebrating Ati-Atihan for the first time! It’s an annual festival/feast in Kalibo where everyone dances on the street, parades are held almost on the daily, and of course LOTS of food. When they say “feast,” they really FEAST. I have always wanted to experience this even during my stay while I was studying here and now I finally get to!
I’m so excited to finally start this journey which I feel has all happened so fast. One day I’m in Cali and the next I’ve started life again in the RP. Which reminds me that this, too, will go by fast. So the best thing is to take it by the reins and take the experience at its fullest!
Looking forward to updating you all and to start rolling out some vlogs!
