Oh, the end-of-year blog posts… I look forward to writing you each year! So typically I click on my stats at the end of the year and do a “Top 10 Posts of 201_” post, but when WordPress generated the top 10, most of them were posts from years past! I guess people like a little throwback? So this year I opted to do the “Best Nine” but for fmG! I love the opportunity to write every single post, and these are just some of my favorites. A couple being some goals that were actually accomplished and other milestones that made 2017 sweet. Enjoy!
I remember writing down my goals for 2017 for fashion meets God, one of them being a fellowship where people can physically come together and talk about Christ and the fashion industry. This has been my dream for literally years and in February, it happened! A lot of preparation went behind it but God literally provided the best place to hold it with the support of soooo many people. And the feeling to actually accomplish a goal? Priceless.
The first travel destination of 2017- Florida! Such a fun time bonding with my mom for a week. Not to mention feeling the “fifties” style is a first on fmG!
That time when I had the chance to speak in front of an audience and share my heart behind fashion meets God and what it means to dress in front of the Lord! Public speaking events was another goal of mine for 2017, so when I received the call that a church in LA wanted me to speak to their women’s fellowship I was THRILLED! This opportunity was such a great experience and definitely grew the desire to want to continue to grow this ministry and share this God-given passion to so many others!
Connecting with other faith + fashion bloggers is always a goal of mine. I remember reaching out to Seyi on Instagram and after going back and forth for some time, we finally got together at Urth Caffée in the Arts District! Our conversation was so fruitful and just getting to hear her story and her testimony over a cup of coffee was so great.
My first hike ever in California… and I made the mistake of wearing a dress. HA. I literally had to change once we got to the top of Etiwanda Reserve in Rancho. Once me and Divina, the photographer, finally caught our breath and dabbed some sweat off, we went shooting! She did such an amazing job! Never had a nature shoot quite like this one.
Hola, Dominican Republic! Alongside blogging I really enjoy vlogging and using video media to document life’s great moments. This trip was a hoot! Getting to really collaborate with HARRISON’s and meeting new people during various projects was a blast and reconnecting with old friends who I haven’t seen in 10 years was amazing!
One of my favorite posts merely because of this dress. Truly felt like an Asian Barbie princess, hahaha.
I turned 26 this year! Officially over a quarter of a century old! AHHHH. I had so much fun shooting this post. Thanks to my girl, Sheila Grace!
This by far was probably the most hilarious but sentimental shoots and posts to date. When one chapter closes, sometimes it’s hard to really turn that page. But I had an awesome girl by my side to do it with so I’ll take it.
Oh by the way, fmG also hit 100,000 page views this year too!
So there it is! 2017! What a year it has been!!! And the next chapter is going to be just as adventurous. I can already tell. Thank you all again for opening your web browsers to fashion meets God! It means so much that you take the time, even just a few seconds, out of your day and your life to read the words and ministry God has placed in my heart as I type them off on a keyboard. Your support means so much. Whether I know you personally or not, I just want to say thank you. You are the best!!!
Thank you especially LORD, for another year. You have been so faithful and not to mention gracious and merciful. I am far from perfect. You’ve seen every mistake, fumble, and failure I’ve made, but You always pick your children back up. It’s what a great Father does. Thank you for Your Love, Your goodness, Your kindness that I couldn’t find anywhere else. I pray that as we step into 2018 it will be bigger and greater for Your Kingdom than ever before!
