Dominican Republic Dreamin’: Grub Time!

This will be one of my favorite posts to write on during this series- Dominican food!!

To be honest, I don’t remember exactly what I ate (besides what’s pictured) but I remember it being very close to Filipino food. Needless to say, it was delicious! I remember arriving at the office early in the morning and they were already starting preparations for lunch. I’d walk by the kitchen area whenever I passed the main shop and these ladies would have their stoves up and running, stirring huge pots filled with either vegetables, stew, rice, or other Dominican food.

By lunch time, my auntie, uncle, and I would pick up our food which was different each day. It would always include all main food groups which I was not (and still am not) used to getting, haha. We would walk up to their elevated seating area surrounded by palm trees and more gorgeous greenery while enjoying our meal complete with fruit and dessert. Not a bad way to spend lunch almost every day, which yes, was one of my favorite times of the day!
