Fifties Fashion in Florida

“Don’t worry, beach happy.”

Hellooooo, Florida!

My mom, a family friend from MI, and I went on a little getaway! This trip was a little bit on the spontaneous side as I was not planning to go to the Sunshine State this year. My parents have owned a timeshare in Orange Lake Resorts ever since I was three months old. The property has expanded so much over the years and there are always new memories made. The last time I was here was back in 2010! It was a little sad not having the whole family there like usual, but we made the best of it.

We spent our first full day together hanging out at the resort at River Island in North Village which ultimately became my FAVORITE spot. Complete with two swimming pools, two hot tubs, a water slide, pool-side cabanas, the most relaxing lazy river, and not to mention these hammocks underneath luscious palm trees swaying in the breeze. Ahhhhh, soooo good. My mission was to bake, bake, bake until I got some color. It’s so strange, the older I get the harder it is for me to get tan! Yesss girl, I laid out every. single. day.

Like my 99 cent scarf? As you’ll see in the next post- there’s so many ways to accessorize with a scarf in the summertime! I bought this bathing suit right before the #JirehForFour mission trips from Burlington Coat Factory. Let me tell you, I never thought I would see myself in a one-piecer. But I’ve grown to love ‘em! It was so fun putting this look together; I feel like I’m in the ’50s!

Until next time! Catch you under the palm trees!

P.S. I also tried to vlog, guys! I’ve lost my touch (if I ever really had a touch) and the content may be “bleh” but hopefully it turns out well!
