Pastor Podcasts: My Current Favorites

Hello, dears! I’m really looking forward to sharing this post because its content is something that I’ve personally been going through to strengthen my spiritual walk- and I just need to share it!

For 2017, one of my goals is to intentionally be spiritually fed every. single. day. To go deeper in my walk with the Lord. So besides doing my morning devotion, I’ve been listening to podcasts from some of my favorite pastors such as Steven Furtick from Elevation Church. I try to make it a point to listen to one podcast on my way to the office and let me tell ya, it’s been so amazing. Prior I would listen to worship music and have my own mini concert in my car, which is always great, but there’s something about listening to a message that directly relates and tackles on the challenges that I’m going through in life that’s supported by Scripture that sets a different tone and energy. There are times where a sermon hits directly what I need to hear and I can’t help but say, “YES!” Some will say that’s a coincidence but I say that’s God ordaining that specific message to reach and teach me. So good.

Here are four podcasts that have done just that. Why only four if 24 days have already passed in 2017? Because these specific four I’ve listened to repeatedly to fully absorb and understand. Ergo I thought I would share them with you! Perhaps you will resonate with one or all of them, too? Plus, if you can listen to them with the headphones above- BONUS. Haha! (Source)

“He [Paul in Philippians] declares the supply and strength of God so… that he says, ‘I’ve been in need! I’ve been flat and leveled! I’ve been abandoned! I’ve been betrayed! I’ve been forgotten about! I’ve been depressed! I’ve been accused! I’ve been broke! I’ve been sick! But MY God is STILL Jehovah Jireh!'”

“Every generation has a sound. And that sound is normally in competition with the sound of Heaven. So God says, I need a new sound that will let people know that the emptiness of the sound of their flesh can never replace the sound of Heaven. So for this generation God raises up: “O Come to the Altar, the Father’s Arms are Open Wide.”

“When you watch a movie and they go home after a night the first time they meet at a bar and rip each other’s clothes off, that’s not passion. That’s attraction. One is from the heart, one is from the hormones. Passion isn’t I rip your clothes off after the first time we met; that’s not passion. Passion is when I saw my mom take my dad’s clothes off while he was dying to give him a bath because he couldn’t move his own body. Now that’s passion.”

“The problem is not the promise. It’s the response to the process that’s the problem.”

“And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God.”
