Hello all and happy Easter! What an amazing day to remind ourselves of what Christ did to save us all. The nails couldn’t keep Him down, the grave couldn’t keep Him in, hell couldn’t keep Him out, He REIGNS!
Last week was such a whirlwind but I am so excited to finally share with you what I, or should I say we’ve been up to!
I went to California for a week for business and to network with other faith & fashion bloggers (more on that in the next post!) and my friend, Sheila, decided to join me. Who knew that our initial planning on Valentine’s Day would end up as her becoming my business partner?! God works in such unexpected ways!
In obvious fashion blogger fashion, documenting looks throughout the week was a goal for fmG since I know I’ve been slacking in that department. It was so fun doing photoshoots with this girl! So, here’s a mini series on what we both wore from casual to corporate wear throughout the week in sunny, beautiful California. Day 1!
Ask me where to buy the best corporate wear from and (no surprise) I will say Salvation Army. Obviously they’re cheap, but you will also find the cutest and most fashionable ones! The bow on this rounded notched collar added an even more feminine touch to the bright pink blazer. To break up the solid colors with the skirt, I wore a striped tank top underneath for a play on print.

The main reason I flew to the west coast was for an event my company held for all those who qualified through their business. I, along with six other teammates, went to San Jose for a conference where top leaders poured words of wisdom to around 2,000 attendees. It was the first time I’ve received such mentorship ever since I joined this world-class company and in a matter of eight hours I was challenged, convicted, inspired, and grateful that such people even took time out of their schedules to shower us with advice and practical tactics to not only better our businesses but ourselves and our futures.
One of the founder’s last words really hit as he spoke from his heart as a believer. To hear from someone who practically built an empire for others to succeed on how God created us to make a DIFFERENCE in this world and that we are not in this company and moment in time by accident was truly something. At the end, I found myself sitting alone processing everything I heard as everyone else already filed out of the hall. Powerful stuff.
“Opportunity is a gift. People come here from other nations so they can change their lives…so they can change their family and future generations forever. This nation was created by people who wanted to do that. It’s still a beacon for people who want to do that.”
Meanwhile, Sheila went around San Jose with her relatives- how cute is she, right?!

Later that night we hopped on a plane to LAX with a dream but no cardigan…
Stay tuned for more!
