Can you believe Christmas is just over ONE week away? Here in Michigan we are used to seeing a winter wonderland, or, a blizzard with no mercy to some. It’s so strange we’ve had warm days and green to see; I’ll admit it’s even hard to get into the Christmas spirit without seeing some snow outside! However there’s one way to get into it without the means of weather- holiday wear! I’ve had the opportunity to style one of ModCloth’s holiday sweaters and I truly enjoyed creating an outfit based around this cute “Courtly Nutcracker Sweater:” Screen Shot 2014-12-14 at 9.11.22 PMScroll through ModCloth’s items and you can quickly see the wide variety of styles they have to offer- vintage to edgy, bohemian to feminine chic. For this particular look I decided to step out of my comfort zone of hip-hop, urban girl/bohemian flower child to create a preppy and youthful yet sophisticated ensemble. Take a look! Modcloth-fashionmeetsgodMeet Gossip Girl’s Blair Waldorf’s younger sister. I always love to highlight red in accessories as I did with these oxford flats and studs. Knee high socks seemed obvious with this plaid skirt to fully emulate that preppy school girl look and to top it off, a full circle hat with an oversize bow. You can wear this look to any Christmas party or even to school to help spread holiday cheer!
