My reaction to everything lately. I am so excited to write this post because I cannot help but share how God has been working. His generosity has blown my mind and I am nothing but captivated and thankful for His provisions.
Before I spoke at Central Michigan University, my older brother told me him and his wife found her cellphone in their yard after the snow melted. For some reason, the phone was still functional when they turned it on. Since she already upgraded to another one they decided to give me her discovered phone. Although my little Samsung prize from Forever 21 Philippines has been with me through thick and thin the past couple of years, I’ll take an iPhone!
After I got my Canon, I received a call from a church friend who knew I was hit by a deer that damaged the vehicle’s front quite a bit resulting in sticking to the Starcraft, my
bus van since high school. She told me they recently bought a new car and whenever they discussed matters for their former one my name constantly came to mind. So what did they do? They gifted me with their ’04 Chevrolet Aveo with 54,000 miles for free including mechanical costs. Libre, gratuit, kostenlos. I’m still shaking from that conversation! It was so unexpected and I didn’t know how to react besides panting and saying “thank you” a hundred zillion times. I went from Big Brenda:
to my little Blueberry!!! How cute is she?!
The ironic thing is I’ve been thinking of purchasing both of these for the past few months. You’d think I would with a 15 miles/gallon tank and a phone with low quality for a blogger but I never did because I didn’t feel led to. God not only tells us what to do but what not to do. And now I have uncovered why- He had something even better planned that allowed me to experience His faithfulness firsthand in major ways!
He didn’t stop there. He decided to put the cherry on top of all the sweet goodness. The following Sunday two other church friends randomly gifted me with this cool Costume Institute 2014 planner and a cute black and cream bolero. Blessings come in the form of friendships, too!
The saying “blessings in disguise” completely did not hold true during these past two abundant weeks. It’s as if Jesus threw confetti of favor and I was the surprised guest. God likes to provide us with wants, too. I didn’t need a new phone or way of transportation. If I can call and text and get to where I need to go I’m set. But He provides because He loves to. His name “Jehovah Jireh” purely serves as a great reminder that He is sufficient in all that we lack. The idea that our all-loving Father supplies us naturally, selfish humans is a crazy yet beautiful paradox. I mean, He did sacrifice His one and only Son so that we may have eternal life through His death on the cross. That is perfect and unconditional love. You will never expect anything less.
I’ve posted this song before but I can’t think of any other song that really describes how I feel. Thank you to my brother and sister-in-law for the phone, the Bellmans for Blueberry, Pastor Shawn for fixing my new ride, and Miss Sue and Miss Lyn for the lovely presents. Of course, thank You LORD for Your unfailing love and constant care!
