After breaking bank at two Starbucks and a Tim Hortons with the blessing of Spotify, all the hours of preparation came down to Tuesday night’s guest talk at Central Michigan University’s Fashion Association of Merchandising and Design (FAMD). What an experience speaking in one of the nation’s top fashion merchandising schools! I am so grateful to FAMD’s E-Board for allowing me to share my story, what I love to do, and words of advice to these students. Thank you to all that approached me afterwards, too! It was great getting to connect with you as you continue to work towards your dreams and goals. Remember, I believe in you!
I’ve also heard so many great things about CMU’s state-of-the-art technology for textiles such as a thermal mannequin that can relate to a human body’s thermal patterns and an environmental chamber which can test the function of a garment. I immediately knew I had to get a tour! Big thanks to Assistant Professor (and fellow Christ follower) Carol Beard for walking me through FAMD’s labs and design rooms.
Thank you to all who supported and prayed for me the past few days. My phone almost exploded with all the texts and Facebook messages of inspiring encouragement from you all. Major thanks to my Chippewa friend Hannah Angsioco for hosting me and Klaus Tiefenbach for the transportation. My heart was so full with a non-stop smile and I am crazy blessed to have such friends and family! Okay, I think it’s time for a virtual hug, yes? ***HUG***
Last but certainly not least, I give all praise and honor to God for the blessing of continuous opportunities. Even through the most real spiritual warfare I’ve ever experienced pre-presentation, His sovereignty truly was victorious through it all. He gave me the words, hands, and feet to do what He designed for me to do. He overcame even when I felt doubt and the chance to share Him and fmG allowed me to strengthen my faith and deepen my relationship with Him even more. I would not change that for anything. Thank You!!!
