Velvet, velvet, velvet. Not a favorite to some with the exception of dance costume manufacturers and mothers of three-year-old daughters who dress them in the luxe fabric every Christmas party complete with ruffles and floral embellishments. Correct, velvet is making a grand comeback on bodycon skirts, dresses, and shoes. Ta da- a dark based vest with velvet embroidery. I found this in a thrift shop (ukay ukay) in Quiapo about a year ago. Initially its appearance seemed like someone sewed it straight from a 1970s couch, however, the velour of the embroidery was so unique I couldn’t pass it up and not just because it was only $1. Hehe.

Can you believe tomorrow’s Thanksgiving already?! My “Thankful List” seems almost unending but just to name a few, family, friends, work, and of course, a loving God whom has saved me by His grace is what I’m extremely appreciative for. Lastly, I am very thankful for you! Thank you for taking the time out to read this and if you’re a loyal reader, thank you for your continuous support. “Fashion Meets God” has come such a long way and without you a lot of the inspiration and motivation for this blog would not be present. So thank you, thank you, thank you and please continue to not only read but share “Fashion Meets God” with everyone!

Much love,
Jireh
