Jacket & jeans: Salvation Army • Shoes: Forever 21 • Necklace: Quiapo
Alright, so this jacket is a size too big for me, but when you see it at a thrift store for $7 plus an additional 25% off you make it work. I remember eyeing a similar one like this at Forever 21 for $60; just another reason why I couldn’t pass it up. I love how the fringe extends from the arms across the back- it just screams western! How exceptionally appropriate for Bridgewood Church’s “Barnyard Jam,” yes??
The word “barnyard” makes me think of a wooden, red barn, hay, cowboy boots, tractors, and livestock. Yesterday was pretty darn close; there was not an animal in sight and the barn looked more like a beige warehouse (upon 80 acres of land!) and what a gorgeous day it was. The weather was the perfect balance of warmness and slightly chilly, the foliage was a canvas of beautiful reds, orange, yellows, and green, children were joyfully engrossed in their activities under the autumn sun, apple cider and donuts were served, and the hayride made its roundabouts. If that doesn’t say the perfect fall day to you then I don’t know what does!
I found myself looking up numerous times during the hayride. Part of it was because I was counting how many hunting chairs I could find in real-life I-Spy, but another reason was because I couldn’t help but be overwhelmed by God’s breathtaking creation surrounding me- nature. Those 25 minutes of pleasant stillness seemed to pause all of life’s to-dos and busyness. I came across this quote and it struck me because it has no falsity behind it:
“Nature is God’s first missionary. Where there is no Bible there are sparkling stars. Where there are not preachers there are spring times…If a person has nothing but nature, then nature is enough to reveal something about God.” – Max Lucado
God’s love is behind that scenery. I think it’s awesome He created a season such as this to have those awe-inspiring moments of one of the most beautiful in-person, live, in your face pictures you’ll ever receive and experience His grace.

“You alone are the LORD. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them. You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship you.” (Nehemiah 9:6)
