Fire Away

Happy Hump Day!
Happy Birthday, Beyoncé!

The above photos document Velocity‘s (Bridgewood Church’s college/20-something group) Sunday night outing: outdoor shooting! If you are like my sister-in-law’s family who takes hunting trips both in and out of the U.S. as a hobby (or something similar), reading this may be like reciting the alphabet. Yes, eleven years living in the boonies and I’ve only gone shooting one other time plus recent knowledge that some people carry handguns here like its chewing gum. But yay to trying new things! This experience consisted of testing out eight different firearms; a 22, 380, 9mm, and a 45 handgun and a 20 gauge, a Russian Mosin-Nagant, and a hunting rifle (I forgot one of them and did I just butcher those terms?). I was a little hesitant on joining because I was scared to accidentally shoot someone, but thankfully no blood was shed, just a bruise from the shotguns!

Fashion side: If I were to wardrobe change, I would full out denim-on-denim it. There’s this rustic-like feel of wearing denim and being surrounded by nature…with a rifle 🙂 Choose your favorite style from skinny to boyfriend to bootcut, pair it with some sturdy boots, and perfect your hair into a messy bun or pony. Oh, and don’t forget the bug spray!

  1. HI Jireh! I didn’t know you went to Bridgewood! I have often thought about going there and checking it out. (I go to Clarkston UMC right now). Love the activitiy that you did with them, this had to be very fun. We used to shoot guns in our backyard (we lived WAYYY in the country!) Love the outfit too!

    1. Yes, I do! You should definitely come check it out on Sunday (9:30 or 11am service). It was a ton of fun even though I felt like such an amateur compared to them haha. Thank you and hope to see you on a Sunday!
