Camouflage- The disguising of military personnel, equipment, and installations by painting or covering them to make them blend in with their surroundings (Thanks, Google). P.S. Did you know there was a camo pattern index?

The thought of taking look shots in the woods with camouflage sounded like a good setting idea until the pictures came out in total green glory blurriness. However, this minor and published setback interested me in researching about the fabric print which dates back all the way to the 19th century for no other purpose but military personnel.

The green puzzle pattern made its debut onto street style since World War I and is one of the trends to look for this upcoming fall. In true fashion industry fashion, designers have taken camo into their own interpretation by altering color, fabrication, and inserting the print onto modern silhouettes. As The New York Times describes it, “Camouflage is a fashion disguise for when you want to be seen.”

  1. Greetings Jireh!
First, I want to commend you on putting your faith out there. It is inspiring to see a young woman share such an important part of her life with others. I hope that you are able to touch the lives of many.
Second, I enjoy your fashion blogs and photography. As a(n older) vintage store owner, I like to see what is happening with the younger crowd.
If you are ever in Windsor…please visit at Penny Jane’s Vintage & More, 1585 Wyandotte Street East. It is a huge space with an eclectic mix of ‘everything’. I rent a space there as I closed my own shop a while ago. Check out ‘Aquarius Vintage’ on facebook to get an idea of the type of styles I carry.
    Hope to see you soon!
    In peace, Sandra

    1. Hi, Sandra!

Thank you so much for the sweet comment! I believe that sharing my faith and fashion is what God has called me to do and when I receive comments like yours I know that God is truly working not only in my life but readers as well.

I was actually in Windsor a few months ago and visited the “Full Circle” vintage store. I love searching for unique vintage shops! The next time I’m in Windsor I will make sure to visit Penny Jane’s!

      Thank you again!
      Jireh
