IntermixedYes. I truly believe a person can serve God while being interested in the latest styles. How? These guys can prove it here and here. The key is to finding the balance that is both modernistic and glorifying to Christ.

Outwardly Appearances

“And I want women to be modest in their appearance. They should wear decent and appropriate clothing and not draw attention to themselves by the way they fix their hair or by wearing gold or pearls or expensive clothes. For women who claim to be devoted to God should make themselves attractive by the good things they do.”

1 Timothy 2:9 has convicted me ever since I was a young teen when fashion really started to make an influence on my life. I like makeup, curling my hair, beauty products, following Fashion Week, reading Elle and InStyle, and shopping. Is that so bad? This billion-dollar industry invests into continually evolving trends which consumers buy into for one thing- their outer appearance. However, I believe that God want us to look our best and presentable while being mindful of what we wear (even though it can be a struggle at times) and never put materialism and appearances before Him. All attention should be towards Him. In the end, God cares about what our hearts look like and the relationship we have with Him.

Bridging the Gap

“She is clothed in strength and dignity. She laughs at the days to come.”  (Proverbs 31:25)

My dream is to see people clothed with confidence by walking in the Truth and having a passion for Christ as I pursue a career in this industry. I want to show the world Christians can have fun with fashion, too, while sharing the greatest thing I’ve ever discovered- God’s love.

“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else and live righteously, and He will give you everything you need.” (Matthew 6:33)
