Goodbye For Now, Pilipinas

As I sit in my empty, blank room waiting for my 6:00am leave time to come, I look back at this past two-year journey and seriously cannot believe it is all over. It hasn’t really hit me even though I’ve had four different despedidas (going away get togethers) in the past week and a number of sad goodbyes/”see you laters.” My last day alone was such a blessing and I cannot express my gratitude enough to God of how He has provided for me while I’ve been here- an ever-encouraging and loving family, amazing friends to last a life time, and endless memories to add to my life story. If you saw me a year and a half ago I was aching to go back home to Michigan, but God has worked in my life so much that now I am incredibly sad to be leaving this country- my second home. This was the most challenging yet rewarding experience of my life thus far and I want to thank everyone who has been there for me. Everyone and everything that I have encountered has shaped me little by little to become someone more than I ever thought I could be. Salamat lahat!

And, of course, I’ll end with this- a video compiled of everything during my final month here from Tagaytay, Subic, Boracay, Palawan, and Metro Manila. Enjoy!

So long, Philippines! It’s been real. Until next time!

  1. Reading this blog and watching the video made me miss having you with us in Pinas. It would be fun to see you back there one of these days either for a short visit or maybe a longer stay! Love you girlie! πŸ™‚
