Jan. ’12 Finals: A Look Inside My Portfolio

My FIllus (Fashion Illustration) 3 final consisted of creating a portfolio of all of our studies and works throughout the term. The main portions of our portfolios were our two RTW (ready-to-wear) collections, one for mass market and another for high end, and the wedding segment which we had to design a wedding dress and a flower girl dress. Here you can see my moodboards for each segment followed by the designs/collections. One thing I learned from my wedding segment is that the Philippines is definitely not big on the traditional white dress like the U.S. is. I think I was the only with white while my other classmates unveiled shades of tans, browns, orange, and pinks! So culturally different! Due to lack of time, I didn’t sew these, but I did embellish the bridal gown (while watching Fresh Prince of Bel-Air of course) and taking a whole seven hours. The model for my flower girl dress is Guia’s sister. Isn’t she the cutest? Ugh, and yes, fitting my dress made me endure…well…rather yearning and longing emotions. #girltalk #donthate
