2 Things.

I love it here. The Philippines is so amazing and it’s better than I remembered. I love the people. I love the atmosphere of this country. I love the food. I love being here with family I’ve only seen a handful of times in my life. I love this experience already and I’m so excited to see what God has planned for my life here in the next 9 months.

As much as I want to enjoy my time here to the fullest, two things haunt me from back home…memories and diaries.

Having a diary is so mysterious. No one else has read it except for you. No one else’s eyes have graced those descriptive pages except for yours. Especially since I’ve been writing in them since 2005, looking back on them makes me appreciate my life and how much I’ve grown up. I write everything in them. Emotional times, unforgettable events, events I don’t want to forget, etc. The idea of a book containing this whole other part of you that no one knows and understands what you went through is so mystic. And the thought of someone reading them is like a best friend telling all your personal secrets to everyone at school with a back stab. Too bad I left them back home and now…well…

As for memories. Well…

Ugh, I need peace about these things. I can’t continue living these 9 months 8,000 miles away thinking about it because it’s already distracting me and it’s only the third day here. I wish it was easy to just focus on what my real purpose is here for…fashion school and starting my career. But memories come back, then anger, then memories, then sadness, then memories, then frustration. Thankfully, I know Christ is with me reminding me to have a clear head and focus on the more important things. ❤

She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. -Proverbs 31: 25-26
